Job description

We are looking for a Civil Engineer/Civil Designer who will be in charge of designing complex civil engineering projects for land development and public works projects utilizing CAD programs and design software.

IMPORTANT: ENGLISH AND A PORTFOLIO ARE MANDATORY FOR THIS POSITION.

Job requirements

Responsibilities include but are not limited to:

  • Design and oversee civil engineering projects related to land development, public works, site infrastructure, and utility design.

  • Utilizing AutoCAD Civil 3D, GIS, and other design software to create detailed engineering plans, models, and construction documents.

  • Conduct and oversee land surveys, ensuring accurate data collection for site development and public infrastructure projects.

  • Prepare grading, drainage, roadway, and utility plans while ensuring compliance with local, state, and federal regulations.

  • Review and analyze survey reports, maps, and legal land descriptions.

  • Provide technical guidance and recommendations on design feasibility and cost-effective solutions.

  • Performs design for site grading (earthwork), access road, stormwater design, hydraulic and hydrology calculations, detention ponds, erosion and sedimentation control, infrastructure design, parking lots, etc.

  • Interprets “as-built” and redline information and makes appropriate revisions to plans.

Desirable Knowledge & Skills:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering, Land Surveying, or a related field.

  • Proficiency in AutoCAD Civil 3D, GIS, and other civil engineering design software.

  • Experience with land development, public works, grading, and utility design.

  • Knowledge of Grading Plans (MUST)

  • Knowledge of Drainage Plans and calculations (MUST)

  • Knowledge of Storm Utility plans and calculations (MUST)

  • Knowledge of Utility plans and calculations for Water. (Knowledge in drawings is a MUST)

  • Knowledge of Utility plans and calculations for the Sewer. (Knowledge in drawings is a MUST)

  • Strong understanding of zoning laws, environmental regulations, and permitting processes.

  • Ability to interpret topographic and boundary surveys for project planning and design.

  • Excellent problem-solving, communication, and project management skills.

Softwares:

  • Civil 3D

  • Knowledge in HydroCAD (a PLUS)

  • Storm and Sanitary analysis

  • AutoCAD

  • HEC-RAS / HMS

  • Microsoft Office
