Job description

We are seeking a detail-oriented and technically skilled Structural Designer to join our engineering team. In this role, you will be responsible for preparing precise engineering calculations, load path layouts, and construction drawings for various residential and commercial building projects. The ideal candidate possesses deep expertise in wood-frame assemblies and reinforced concrete elements, ensuring all projects are structurally sound, economical, and fully compliant with building codes

Job requirements

Desirable knowledge & skills:

  • Education: Bachelor’s degree in Civil or Structural Engineering.

  • Experience: 2 to 5+ years of structural design experience with a proven track record in wood and concrete.

  • Technical Skills: Proficiency in AutoCAD, Revit, and structural analysis software (e.g., Enercalc, RISA, WoodWorks, or RAM).

  • Licensing: EIT preferred; SE/PE track is a plus.

  • Traits: Strong attention to detail, proactive problem-solving, and clear communication skills.

Main Responsibilities:

  • Perform structural calculations for gravity, lateral, foundation, and retaining systems.

  • Design wood-frame assemblies (shear walls, joists, beams) and reinforced concrete elements (foundations, slabs, columns).

  • Develop detailed structural plans, sections, and framing details using AutoCAD and Revit.

  • Coordinate designs with architects, engineers, and project leads to ensure constructability.

  • Ensure strict compliance with building codes including IBC, ASCE 7, ACI 318, and NDS.
